In less time than you may think, the electrics in your home can become damaged or worn through general wear and tear.

It's important to have electrics routinely inspected and tested to check they're still safe, and to ensure any work undertaken complies with Part P Building Regulations.

• Electrical system fault finding and repairs
• Internal and external replacement of lamps
• Blown fuses, circuit breakers
• Socket outlets, fused spurs, light switches
• Electric oven and shower installation
• Bathroom and kitchen extractor fans
• Warm air curtains
• Night storage, Economy 7
• Convector heaters
• Installations in new homes and extensions
• Smoke and fire alarm systems
• Garden installations
• CCTV to protect your home
• Periodic test and inspect reports (for insurance and house sale purposes)

SJD are happy to provide a written quotation for all domestic works and just give advice where needed. Our reputation is paramount to us. We never specify anything that's unnecessary, always check electricians claiming a consumer unit change or rewire is required to comply with new regulations, if the installation is not unsafe this may not be needed.

Massive variation is still present between the standards of domestic electricians unfortunately and we see many instances of unsafe or shoddy workmanship.

Our electricians are directly employed by us, their workmanship is neat, tidy and always to BS 7671:2008. We are insured to £10m Public Liability, our work is financially guaranteed and our technical standards are guaranteed by the NICEIC and ECA.

Always choose a contractor registered with a reputable trade body to work in your home.

Landlords / Letting Agents
If you are a landlord, you need to be sure that the electrics in your property or properties are safe. That's the law. The NICEIC have produced a useful factsheet that covers all your responsibilities and obligations.
